U.K. artist Ghostpoet (a.k.a. Obaro Ejimiwe) just released his fourth album, Dark Days + Canapés, preceded by the premiere of one of the album’s tracks, “Dopamine If I Do.” The track is his latest work since the 2015 release of Shedding Skin and features singer-songwriter EERA. Ejimiwe’s gravelly vocals and deep instrumentation create a melodic sense of gloom that parallels lyrics questioning human connection in our contemporary world. He clarified to The FADER: “I wrote this one for the struggling minds, trying to make sense of an ever-increasingly technologically connected, but lonesome world.”
Ejimiwe will be touring throughout the U.K. and Ireland this fall, but if you can’t make it overseas in time, head over to his Soundcloud to listen to the track. Click here to pre-order Dark Days + Canapés now.
