RYAL co-wrote an infectious track entitled “Charity” produced by Aaron Nevezie and UK-based composer Chris White. This electro-pop song is a combination of a minimalist yet chilling piano, guitar, and synth bass composition with Ryal’s poignant lyrics that assert the track’s reaction to American political and social unrest.
Back in October 2016, the piece was originally inspired by a haunting chord sequence that White had written for piano that captured the rawness of winter. However, when the results of the November presidential election spurred hatred and fear in the U.S., Ryal struggled to separate the political climate from her writing.
“…It made me think how we all need to take a beat and watch our thoughts,” she said. “Come the result of the election one of the first thoughts I had was, ‘How the heck can I get out of this country?’, but after some time, I thought how important it is for people who want something different for this country and for this world to stay.”
“Charity” was first premiered on LADYGUNN and follows singles such as “Record on” and “Care of You,” all to be released later this summer on RYAL’s debut album Silver & Gold. Check out “Charity” on Soundcloud and follow them on Facebook to keep up with their latest releases.
