Hailing from Oakland, CA, singer/songwriter Jennah Bell has recently dropped the visual for her intimate narrative titled, “John Forbid.”
“John Forbid” is the third track on the singer’s debut studio album titled, Anatomy. The EP showcases Jennah’s Folk, Soul, and R&B sounds with poetic lyrics to match.
The visual concept for “John Forbid” stands as being very simple yet artistically engaging as lyrics reminiscent of a failed love story play in the background.
Contemporary ballet dancers represent two lovers, using their movements to convey the story Jennah writes about; she is seated in the center of an empty room with cream-colored walls as vibrant shades of brown and pastel pink and white move around the room. Clips of red roses appear as symbolism dripping with white paint perhaps to signify the inability to sustain mature love at a young age.
