New Video: James Lindsey “Rainbow”

On the eve of releasing his first EP Same Sky, Louisville, KY hip-hop artist, James Lindsey joins vocal forces with another Louisville resident, Cicily, to bring us the refreshing single “Rainbow.” This track will be the artist’s’ second single after his first, “Wanna Shine” feat. Otis Junior.

As scenes of an empty church and bright open outdoor spaces with the clear blue skies appear on the visual for “Rainbow,” the track was inspired by the rather dark themes dealing with mass incarceration and the state of how African-Americans are treated in the United States.

Besides the serious issues highlighted on this track, the title itself signifies hope after dark times, which seems fitting post inauguration.

“It sounds dark, but myself and my director Roman Lane used light in the video as a sign of hope,” said Lindsey.
